This page provides some background on the AWARE project, including an outline of its history and an important explanation of the current AWARE ecosystem.
AWARE is a smartphone sensing framework that was created by Dr. Denzil Ferreira as a result of his PhD – co-supervised by Prof. Vassilis Kostakos and Prof. Anind K. Dey. Originally developed for Android, over the years AWARE has evolved and an iOS/iPhone version has also been developed. In short, there are three forms of AWARE:
- The main AWARE for Android, which was formerly known as the AWARE-Light adaptation of the original AWARE.
- AWARE Legacy, which is the last phase of the original AWARE prior to it being archived.
- The iOS/iPhone port based on the original AWARE
